Many old fishing wharfs on the outskirts of Finnmark in Norway, like this one on Ingøya, have been converted to receive fishing tourists during the summer season.
Thanks a lot Randall, it was pretty awesome. When looking north from this island there is pretty much nothing between it and the north pole – well except from Spitsbergen maybe:)
Thanks a bunch Sue! Best time by far would be June 15th to July 15th or thereabout. But that is also when everyone else is going. I personally like August and September as it is less crowded, but weather cools down a bit during fall but I usually don’t mind.
Your photos are gorgeous. I am excited to be spending more than month in Norway, Iceland and Greenland next September starting in Longyearbyen and ending in Oslo, some travel by boat and other on our own by car. I have spent much time in Norway and you have beautifully captured the incredible beauty of the region.
Much appreciated Cindy! Your travel plan sounds just amazing – would have loved to do the same trip. You have a lot to look forward to! Can’t wait to see photos and hear from it:)
Also my dream… Beautiful!

Much appreciated, nothing technically advanced with this one – it was just such a beautiful place this island sitting on the edge of the Barents Sea.

Thanks a lot Rob! Lots to explore on this island, we did a little bit of it for the weekend we visited. Did some hiking and picked some cloudberries.

Inger I will say that you are sending my wanderlust for Norway through the roof. What would you suggest as the best time of year to visit?

I think we Canadians might be able to manage a bit cooler. Would definitely prefer that to going with everyone else. Thanks!
